SUNAINA's POV
It was my second day as someone's wife, and as usual, my alarm woke me up to the cutest sight.
His hand rested on my waist while he lay on his stomach, eyes half-open and mouth slightly parted.
My husband sleeps like a baby.
I chuckled softly, looking at him, and carefully lifted his hand to free myself from his grip. His hold wasn't the kind that caged you, but rather the gentle, cuddly kind.
Once free, I quietly went to the closet for a fresh pair of clothes.
Since yesterday I wore a saree, I thought it would be nice to wear an anarkali suit today.
Nodding at my self-assessment, I took my clothes and went to freshen up.
After a relaxing shower, I lathered my body with my favourite moisturizer and slipped into my bathrobe.
There was no way I was going to wear a heavy anarkali suit inside the washroom.
After quickly locking the closet door, I changed into my heavy magenta anarkali suit and followed my usual skincare routine in front of the vanity mirror in the room.
By the time I was ready, he was already awake and was probably in the washroom. Quickly arranging all the beddings, I went downstairs to help chachi with breakfast.
I was starting work tomorrow, and we had both mutually decided it would be better to plan our honeymoon later, once we were comfortable with each other both mentally and, well... sexually.
"Good morning chachu," I greeted him as he came from the balcony near the staircase.
"Good morning, princess. You look so beautiful," he replied. His enthusiasm so early in the morning made me smile.
"Thank you. Aap neeche hi jaare ho?" I asked, smiling at him.
(Are you heading downstairs?)
"Haanji beta ji, woh zara aapki chachi ko unka favourite breakfast cook karke dene ka soch raha tha isliye unko uthaya nahi abhi tak," he said in a low voice.
(Yes, I was planning to surprise your chachi by cooking her favourite breakfast for her that's why I snoozed her alarms and let her sleep in for a little bit longer.)
I chuckled and replied, "chaliye mai help kar deti hu aapki."
(Let's go, I'll help you.)
"Nahi nahi beta ji, apni biwi ko apne haath ka nashta khilane ka maza hi alag hai, tu aarram kar," he said, giving my head a gentle pat.
(No no beta, cooking for my wife is an amazing feeling, you go take some rest.)
"Acha par mujhe bhi toh mere pati ke liye naashta banana hai chachu, aur fir meri 2 cute si sister-in-laws hai unke liye bhi toh banana hai mujhe," I said, smiling mischievously.
( But, I too want to cook breakfast for my husband and my two cute sister-in-laws too.)
He chuckled, shook his head, and said, "acha theek hai chal."
(Okay let's go.)
And that's how we ended up making a delicious breakfast. Chachu cooked chachi's favourite samosas, I made my husband his favourite cheese sandwiches along with a parfait bowl, and for my girls, I cooked their favourite pancakes, chocolate and blueberries for Pari, and strawberry with maple syrup for Eshu.
On the side, we also made some aloo parathas with butter and aam ka achaar, because I was craving them.
All the guests had already left and since Nivedh had gone to visit his best friend in Mumbai, he had left yesterday. But he will be back tomorrow.
Chachu went off to surprise his beautiful wife with breakfast in bed, while I set up the rest of the breakfast at the dining table with the help of the house helps.
As I was arranging the cutlery, someone hugged me from behind. Turning around, I came face-to-face with my adorable Pari.
"Hey, good morning," I said softly, caressing her hair.
"Good morning," came her muffled reply. I chuckled at her cuteness.
"Kya banaya hai bhabhi? It smells so good," she added, peeking over my shoulder.
"Guess... it's your favourite," I replied, smiling teasingly.
"No way!" she exclaimed. "You made my favourite pancakes with chocolate and blueberries!"
"I did. Come on, start eating," I chuckled, and she immediately sat down, taking a long whiff of her favourite breakfast.
"Hi, good morning," Eshu said, settling into her usual spot.
Ignoring her greeting, Pari excitedly said, "Eshu di, bhabhi made our favourite breakfast!" Her happiness knew no bounds, and I couldn't help but smile seeing her so excited.
"Wow, thank you bhabhi," Eshu said, smiling widely. I nodded at her and gestured for her to start eating.
"MR MEHRA KI MRS!" shouted Mr. Mehra. My eyes widened at his words.
(Mr Mehra's Mrs.)
Pari choked on her bite and looked at me teasingly, while Eshu froze mid-bite, her pancake still halfway to her mouth.
"MR MEHRA KI MRS, AAP SUN RAHI HO?" came another shout.
(Mr Mehra's Mrs, can you hear me?)
"Jao jao, Mr. Mehra ki Mrs, aapke Mr. Mehra bula rahe hai," Pari teased, while Eshu chuckled beside her. My cheeks instantly turned crimson, in fact, it felt like they were on fire.
(Go go mr Mehra's Mrs, your Mr Mehra is calling you.)
"Uh-ex... excuse me," I muttered quickly, before hurrying back to our room.
"MR MEHRA KI MRS AAP-" he shouted again, but this time I cut him off by sealing his mouth with my hands.
"Aap pagal ho? Ab ek baar bhi chillaya na toh dekh lena," I muttered, glaring at him.
(Are you mad? Don't you dare shout again.)
"Hi," he replied, grinning like a mischievous child. I sighed at him.
"Bolo, kya hua?" I asked softly, shaking my head.
(Tell me, what happened?)
"Aap mujhe idhar akela chhod kar chali gayi, ye hua," he replied, looking away, his mouth almost forming a pout. It was hilarious seeing him sulking like that.
(You left me alone here, this happened.)
"Wha-" I tried to say something, but I was too stunned.
"I had to cook everyone's breakfast, and if I had waited for you, I would've been late," I explained gently. He side-eyed me.
"Everyone's favourite breakfast?" he questioned. I nodded eagerly in response.
"Even mine?" came his next question. I nodded again, his eyes instantly sparkling as his lips curved into a cute smile.
I can't with this man.
"Ab chale?" I asked, chuckling.
( shall we go?)
He held my hands in his warm ones and pulled me closer. My breath instantly hitched at his fresh-out-of-the-shower scent.
Our faces were only inches apart, and my heartbeat raced unusually fast.
"You look so beautiful, wife." He whispered softly looking at me with his soft eyes. The kind that make me want to drown myself in them.
"Thankyou," I replied, my cheeks heating up.
"You look you look more beautiful when you blush." He muttered looking at me with teasing eyes.
I chuckled and said, "we should go, the breakfast is waiting.
Leaning down, he gently kissed my forehead and whispered, "Ab chalte hai."
(No we can go.)
I opened my eyes, which had closed the moment he kissed my forehead.
They met his warm, soft gaze, and the smile on his lips made me smile back at him.
Nodding, I slipped from his grip, and together we went down for breakfast.
At the dining table, the first thing I noticed was Pari and Eshu's teasing smiles. My cheeks instantly turned crimson again.
"Hi, good morning," he said, sitting in his place, completely unaware of the two devils.
"Good morning, bhaii," they replied in unison, their teasing smiles still intact.
"Stop it and eat," I said with a sigh. He looked at me, confused, but they only shrugged with a chuckle and continued eating.
After a minute or two, pari said, "Mrs Mehra k Mr can you please pass that jug of water please."
(Mrs Mehra's Mr, can you please pass that jug of water please.)
This time he choked on the sip of water he just took, his ears instantly turned red, clearing his throat he passed her the water jug.
Serves you right.
The girls instantly bursted into laughter, I chuckled along with them. Shaking my head I served both of us, and we enjoyed our breakfast with light banter and usual discussions with the girls.
Later, around 12 p.m., chachi told me about the pagphera ritual, he would accompany me, and we'd return in the evening together.
I quickly packed my handbag with the necessary things, and we left for Vashisht Mansion.
Both of my brothers, their wives, and my best friend were waiting outside. As soon as he parked the car, I jumped out and ran straight into my brother's arms.
"I missed you so much," I whispered, my eyes welling up.
"I missed you too, beta," he replied, hugging me tight. I pulled away with a teary chuckle and hugged bhabhi next, followed by Dev bhai, Nishi bhabhi, and my best friend.
"Let's go in," bhaiya said as I pulled back from my best friend's arms.
"Uh, are they here?" I asked cautiously, not wanting to hear a no.
"Yes, bacha, they're waiting inside," bhabhi replied. I let out a breath of relief.
No matter what they did or how they treated me, they were still my parents. And like I'd said before, I wouldn't hold grudges against them-I was content with what I had.
"Let's go," I muttered, holding my husband's hand.
We went straight to the living room. My parents stood up immediately as we approached.
My father was smiling widely; my mother, well... she looked like she'd rather be anywhere but here.
Giving my mother a brief hug, I embraced my father a little longer.
"How are you? Is he treating you well?" he asked, hugging me close.
"I'm good," I replied with a smile. "...Dad."
"Y...you," he stammered in disbelief.
"I forgive you, Dad," I said, smiling widely as tears welled in my eyes. His eyes mirrored mine, shimmering with unshed tears.
Looking around, I saw everyone smiling at me. For a change, even my mother's lips curved slightly upward.
"You forgive me?" he asked, as if he had misheard.
"Yes," I replied, chuckling through my tears. He instantly pulled me into his arms, repeating "thank you" again and again.
"Let's go, lunch is served," bhabhi said as I pulled back and after giving a smile to dad I went straight into my husband's arms.
He softly caressed my back to calm me, and it instantly worked.
We had lunch filled with light teasing and laughter. Afterward, my parents left, and we youngsters sat in the lounge, savoring the rabri bhabhi had made for us.
"So... are you still going to call him Mr. Mehra?" Ashu asked suddenly, and all the ladies instantly turned to look at me.
"No. I do want to call him something else, but I'm scared," I admitted. They facepalmed, legitimately facepalmed-right in front of me. Thankfully, the men were too busy discussing something to notice.
"What if he doesn't like it?" I added, staring down at my bowl. They sighed in unison.
"Are you for real?" Nishi bhabhi asked, too stunned.
"Yeah obviously." I replied, shrugging.
That name was a special one, I used to call him with that name in childhood, I vaguely remember.
"You know what? Do it now and let's see if he likes it or not," Ashu said, taking my bowl from my hands.
My eyes widened. "WHAT? NO."
"Yes," came her firm reply, and both bhabhis nodded in agreement.
I shook my head in-no again, they shook their again in yes again.
I sighed at them, giving my best puppy eyes, but nope-they didn't work.
"Fine," I muttered.
My eyes flicked toward him. He was enjoying his rabri and talking seriously with Dev bhai, while my brother crouched down next to him, searching for something under the couch.
I looked back at my girls; they nodded encouragingly. Taking a deep breath, I said-
"Ved."
